Meet
Dr. Kate

I’m Dr. Kate Morrison, ND, a licensed naturopathic doctor practising in Ontario since 2006. I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) — a four-year postgraduate medical program.

For two decades, I’ve supported adults, teens, and children with hormonal concerns, digestive issues, thyroid imbalance, chronic symptoms, immune challenges, and complex presentations that haven’t fully responded to conventional approaches. My work centers around helping patients understand their bodies clearly and feel genuinely supported throughout their care.

How My Path
Took Shape

Before moving north, I owned and operated a multidisciplinary health clinic in Mississauga and later worked in leadership roles within the natural health industry. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for collaborative care, strong communication, and evidence-informed clinical decision-making.

My family and I eventually relocated to a quieter, more spacious setting surrounded by trees, lakes, gardens, and the rhythm of rural life. We grow much of our own nourishment through our orchard, berry patches, vegetable gardens, and small homestead. Being immersed in nature influences how I think about health: grounded, practical, connected to physiology, and mindful of what the body needs to function well.

These pieces of my life shape my approach to working with patients clear,
thoughtful, and rooted in sustainable long-term wellness.

Why I Became an ND

I became a naturopathic doctor because I knew there was a different way — one that worked with the body rather than against it.

Early in my training, I was struck by how often symptoms were treated as isolated problems instead of clues pointing to a deeper imbalance. Masking symptoms never made sense to me. I wanted to understand what the body was trying to communicate, what systems were under strain, and why someone didn’t feel like themselves.

Root-cause, physiology-based thinking felt instinctive. When you understand how the body is functioning — hormones, digestion, stress patterns, sleep, metabolism — treatment becomes clearer, more precise, and far more sustainable.

Over the years, I saw a pattern:
People were doing “all the right things,” yet still struggling with fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal symptoms, anxiety, poor sleep, or migraines. And many were told everything was “normal”— despite feeling anything but.

I wanted to offer care that looked deeper.
Care that explained why things were happening.
Care that gave patients back a sense of clarity and control.

I also witnessed how modern nutrition, stress, chronic inflammation, and disrupted digestive function can quietly shape so much of how we feel day to day. Even people who eat relatively well are often unintentionally working against their physiology simply because our food environment makes it difficult not to.

Supporting physiology — rather than suppressing it — has become the centre of my work. When treatments, nutrition, lifestyle patterns, and (when appropriate) prescriptions all align with what the body is trying to do, people start to feel better in a way that makes sense, lasts longer, and restores confidence in their own health.

That is the kind of medicine I wanted to practice.
And it’s still why I love what I do today.

My Clinical Approach

01

A whole-body,
functional lens

I consider how digestion, hormones, thyroid function, stress patterns, sleep, immune activity, inflammation, and metabolism interact. Symptoms rarely exist in isolation.

02

Detailed, personalized treatment plans

After your first visit, you receive a clear, structured plan within 1–2 business days. Patients often tell me this is the first time they’ve understood the “why” behind their symptoms.

03

Data-driven care

Digital symptom tracking and longitudinal lab review allow us to identify patterns and refine your plan with better accuracy.

04

Thoughtful use
of testing

I incorporate SIBO breath testing, hormone testing, thyroid panels, nutrient markers, metabolic markers, or private bloodwork when clinically helpful.

05

Prescribing authority With my Ontario prescribing licence, I may integrate:

  • Ibio-identical estrogen and progesterone

  • desiccated thyroid medication

  • vitamin B12 injections

  • other therapies within the naturopathic scope

06

Accessible care
across Ontario

I offer naturopathic appointments virtually, by phone, and in person. Many patients enjoy the convenience of virtual care, while others prefer in-person visits. Both options provide the same level of thorough assessment, detailed planning, and ongoing support — and you can switch between formats at any time.
